Privacy policy (DRAFT)

DRAFT: not yet reviewed by a solicitor. This document is a working draft and may change. Points marked ⚖️ are to be confirmed by a solicitor.

Who controls your data

Tim Johnson (trading entity: ⚖️ to be confirmed), hello@fieldgain.co.uk. ICO registration number: ⚖️ to be confirmed.

What we collect

Only what you give us: name, email, phone, company, and land or unit-request details. No cookies, advertising or trackers.

Fonts and images are served from this website itself; your browser does not contact Google Fonts or any other third-party font or image service.

Why we use it (lawful basis)

To answer your enquiry (legitimate interests, or your consent via the form), and to arrange matches and surveys (steps to enter a contract). Lawful basis: ⚖️ to be confirmed.

Who sees it

Tim Johnson. Stored with Vercel and Supabase; emails sent via Resend. Where these providers hold data, and the transfer safeguards: ⚖️ to be confirmed. Shared with an ecologist, landowner or developer only after you agree. Never sold.

How the forms work

When you press send, your browser sends the form to our own server at /api/geo (hosted by Vercel). The server checks it for spam, saves it in our Supabase database, and sends Tim one email notification with your details through Resend, our email provider. Nobody else is emailed.

IP address and location

Like any website, our host receives your IP address with each request. To stop spam, our server counts how many forms come from the same IP address in a short period; this count is kept briefly in the server's memory and your IP address is not saved with your details. We do not use your IP address to work out where you are, and we do not track your location. The only location we hold is the farm postcode or planning authority you type in. Vercel may keep standard server logs, including IP addresses, for a short time.

How long we keep it

Up to 2 years from last contact; longer only where a contract or the law needs it (for example, fee records for tax).

Your rights

See, correct or delete your data, or withdraw consent, by emailing us; we reply within one month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
